Karkà is the fruit of our commitment to preserving the history and winemaking tradition of Gallura , a region with a deep winemaking vocation. Born from the native variety Caricagiola – a term that in Gallura dialect, Carcaghjola , means “that loads a lot”, referring to its extraordinary productive capacity – this vine has always been the heart of family winemaking in the Gallura stazzi, intended for self-consumption. Over time, experience has revealed its potential, recognizing it as a fine grape capable of giving life to full-bodied, structured and intensely aromatic wines.
With Karkà , we aim to enhance these distinctive qualities. Each vine is cared for with care and dedication, trained with spurred cordon according to the principles of organic farming . We opt for a deliberately limited production, placing the quality of the grapes at the centre. The harvest, strictly manual, takes place in the third ten days of September, when the carefully selected bunches reach full maturity. After pressing and fermentation and an initial maturation in steel, the wine undergoes a brief evolution in oak barrels, refining its character and developing a taste-olfactory profile of extraordinary elegance. Once this process is complete, Karkà rests in the bottle, further refining until it reaches the ideal moment to be appreciated.

Tasting Notes:
Color: Intense and bright ruby red.
Aroma: Enveloping and persistent aroma, dominated by hints of wild berries and fresh blackberry in the foreground, enriched by a distinctive note of licorice. Subsequently, spicy nuances and balsamic hints emerge, amplifying its complexity.
Taste: Warm, soft and velvety on the palate, it stands out for its captivating balance. The intensity of the taste is prolonged in a pleasant and refined persistence.
Pairings & Service
Karkà is a versatile wine, ideal to accompany every moment of the meal. It pairs elegantly with appetizers based on cured meats and mature cheeses, enhances the authentic flavors of traditional Gallura first courses and harmonizes perfectly with second courses of meat or grilled tuna steaks, enhancing their richness of flavor.
